The Hellp

Los Angeles electronic music duo associated with the Remilia community

The Hellp is an American electronic music duo based in Los Angeles, California, consisting of vocalist Noah Dillon and producer Chandler Lucy. Formed in 2015, the band has drawn on influences from electroclash, bloghouse, and dance-punk to develop a sound that combines gritty digital production with hook-driven songwriting. Their work has been associated with the 33reisen rave series and Remilia Corporation's wider cultural orbit, with the duo performing at Remilia-organized events in New York City.

History

The Hellp was initiated by Noah Dillon, who has cited the fear of dying without having been in a notable band as a motivating factor. The project debuted with Twin Sinner in February 2016, featuring guitarist Eddie Liaboh, who departed shortly after its release. Later that year, Dillon met Chandler Lucy at a photoshoot connected to the Los Angeles art collective Hot Mess; Lucy joined as producer and drummer, establishing the duo format the band has maintained since.[1]

After signing to Terrible Records in 2021, the band released the compilation Vol. 1 and the EP Enemy. In 2022, The Guardian cited the duo's fashion sensibility as an antecedent to the indie sleaze revival, a label they have consistently rejected.[2] They signed to Atlantic Records in 2023 through the Anemoia imprint. Their second album LL was released in October 2024, receiving a score of 7.0 from Pitchfork for its "gritty, digitized mutation of 2000s electroclash and indie rock,"[3] followed by Riviera in 2025.

Remilia connection

The Hellp has performed at events organized by Remilia Corporation, including Milady Rave Praxis on June 10, 2023 in New York City.[4] The band's association with the Remilia community has been noted in commentary on the broader scene.
