Praxis
Praxis is an online community and startup society project founded by Dryden Brown, with the stated aim of building a new city and what it describes as "the world's first digital nation." The project positions itself as a cultural and civilizational endeavor, centered on the pursuit of heroism, truth, and beauty, and draws on both classical tradition and crypto-native ideology. Praxis raised approximately $4 million in 2022 from crypto investors.[1]
Overview
Praxis operates as a membership community in which applicants are vetted before being admitted to participate in online events and projects. The long-term goal is to transition the community into a physical city, with outstanding members invited to relocate. Its stated mission is to "revitalize Western Civilization by creating a new culture focused on the pursuit of heroism, truth, and beauty." The project sits within the broader network state movement, a concept popularized by Balaji Srinivasan describing communities that form online before acquiring physical territory.
Relation to Remilia
Praxis sponsored Milady Rave Praxis, held on June 10, 2023, at 133 Mulberry Street in Little Italy, New York City — an event organized by Remilia Corporation that served as the live debut of 2hollis and the first New York City set by The Hellp. The event's name reflects the co-sponsorship. The collaboration reflected an affinity between the two projects in their shared interest in building alternative communities and online-to-offline culture formation.
