Timothy Clancy is a software architect, blockchain developer, and self-described "tree-grower" based in New Hampshire, known for early contributions to NFT gaming infrastructure, technical work within the Remilia Corporation ecosystem, and core development on Sigil L2.
Background
Clancy's 2017–2018 thesis work at Penn, titled "Palm," represented some of the earliest academic material exploring NFT applications in gaming, predating widespread adoption of the ERC-721 standard.[1] This research led directly to his hiring at Enjin, where he worked as a senior engineer integrating the then-new ERC-1155 standard with game developer SDKs and created prototype demos for GDC 2019.
Clancy subsequently served as lead developer at Salad Technologies, CTO of VINCI VR, and Chief Architect at Super Studios, where he built smart contract infrastructure for the SuperFarm platform including the SUPER token generation event, early NFT sales, and DAO vault contracts.
Current work
Sigil L2
Clancy is a core builder at Sigil L2, an Ethereum Layer 2 ZK rollup. Clancy is deeply involved in Ethereum's broader technical community.
Remilia ecosystem contributions
Clancy contributed to several Remilia Corporation projects as a senior engineer and contract developer, focusing on smart contract architecture and platform tooling.
- Development of the $CULT token contract.
- Starting and actively maintaining Miladychan
- The YAYO bridge which allowed users to bridge their Yayo Men off of Canto.
Bonkler
Clancy is a significant participant in Bonkler, Remilia Corporation's experimental finance art project. He owns Bonkler #1, #3, #4, and 98% of #5.
In June 2023, Clancy engaged in an extended bidding war against Laszlo Parker for Bonkler #64, running from June 16 at 9:13 PM to June 18 at 7:32 AM and concluding at 75.2 ETH (approximately $129,004.85 at the time).[2]
Fractionalized Bonklers
Clancy developed Bonklet, a fractionalized bidding system allowing participants to collaborate in pools to bid for Bonklers. The system issues ERC-721 shares called "Bonklets" to pool participants, who can vote with 60% quorum to redeem their Bonkler or unanimously trigger transfers out of the holding contract.[3][4]
The project is licensed under AGPL-3.0, which Clancy has described as motivated by being "big into virality."
Describing his involvement, Clancy wrote: "I'm very excited by everything that @remiliacorp has been doing. It's the NFT anti-culture that I have craved deep within my bones for the last several years. Milady is ascendant, and unstoppable, and Bonkler is a fun new part of that where I can contribute a bit."
Myanmar earthquake relief
Following a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Mandalay, Myanmar on March 28, 2025, Clancy and his fiancée organized Miladys for Myanmar, a charity auction and donation drive to benefit earthquake relief efforts.[5]
The effort routed donations trustlessly through Myanmar Earthquake Relief, a fund of Friends of Pariaman (an American 501(c)(3) registered non-profit), to local relief organizations operating independently of Myanmar's military junta. Clancy noted a "strong attachment to Myanmar and the post-coup democratic faction (NUG) in its ongoing civil war."
The fundraiser included a week-long donation drive with a Milady NFT awarded to the highest donor, and a second Milady raffled proportionally among all donors.[6]
Personal life
Clancy identifies with homesteading and self-sustainability movements, expressing interest in decentralization, homeschooling, and land stewardship. "SINK A WEAL": Single Income, Nine Kids, accumulate Water, Ether, Ammo, Land.
Ethereum Foundation Silviculture Society
In February 2025, Clancy was announced as a member of the Ethereum Foundation Silviculture Society, a group of individuals from outside the Foundation who provide informal counsel on sustaining Ethereum's core values of open source development, privacy, security, and censorship resistance.[7]
$100,000 ficus
After exiting a position in $MOG, Clancy allocated the proceeds toward houseplants for his fiancée, including a ficus valued at $100,000 based on $MOG's subsequent price action. Clancy has clarified: "I paid $325 for mine but I cashed out of $MOG early to give my fiancée a generous budget for acquiring lots of house plants. That's why I'm getting memed on for it being a $100k ficus. It's actually a $20k ficus if I didn't cash out."
