$CULT
$CULT (also known as Milady Cult Coin) is a cryptocurrency token released by Remilia Corporation in December 2024.[1] Built on the Ethereum blockchain as an ERC-721 token, it serves as the official ecosystem token for Remilia's various projects and community initiatives.[2] The whitepaper describes $CULT as "simultaneously catalyst and attractor activating the deepest stores of memetic potentiation," positioning it as distinct from utility-based tokens.[3] Charlotte Fang, founder of Remilia Corporation, described $CULT as representing a new category termed a "metamemecoin" or "memeplexcoin," distinguishing it from traditional memecoins.[4]
Development and presale
Remilia Corporation announced the $CULT token presale on June 13, 2024.[5] The presale ran for one week and raised approximately $20 million, with up to 15% of the total supply available for purchase.[3] The presale was structured in a two-part format with no private sales or venture capital participation.[3]
The presale featured a three-tiered pricing structure. The Community Entry tier was limited to holders of Remilia NFT snapshots, offering 0.25 ETH per wallet with allocation pools of 500 slots for any Remilia snapshot, 250 slots for Milady Maker holders, and 250 slots for Remilio Babies holders.[3] The Holder tier used a quantized, low-resolution stepped curve available to Remilia snapshot holders or current Milady and Remilio holders.[3] The Public tier featured a linear curve with higher resolution, open to anyone.[3] Wallets holding Bored Ape Yacht Club or Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFTs were subject to an additional 10% APE premium, though this could be avoided by selling the Ape NFTs.[3]
The token generation event (TGE) was initially expected within 45 days of the presale but was delayed for six months.[2] Charlotte Fang stated that the delay was strategic, explaining that the team "waited for the right timing" and that "you only get one chance to set the tone for a launch."[2]
Launch
$CULT officially launched on December 9, 2024, on the Ethereum blockchain.[6] The token's fully diluted valuation reached $845 million shortly after launch before stabilizing around $630 million.[6] The launch included a significant airdrop to participants in the Remilia ecosystem, distributed through the Beetlepoints system.[1]
The Beetlepoints system allocated tokens based on community members' involvement with various Remilia projects over a three-year period.[1] The system's unveiling was marked by a guerrilla marketing campaign where the Remilia community engaged in "Beetleposting" at sufficient volume to trend on Twitter's news algorithms.[1]
Tokenomics
$CULT has a total supply of 100 billion tokens minted one-time at genesis on the Ethereum blockchain.[3] The token distribution allocates 50% to the Cult Fund, up to 15% for the presale, 15% for team compensation on an 18-month vesting schedule, and 20-35% for the Remilia Treasury on a six-month vesting schedule.[3]
The Cult Fund, representing half of the total supply, is divided into two components. Half of the Cult Fund (25 billion tokens) was distributed at token generation through the Remilia Achievements Seed Airdrop, while the remaining half is allocated to three annual Manipulation Rounds distributing 15%, 20%, and 15% of the total supply respectively through Q2 2025, Q2 2026, and Q2 2027.[3]

Remilia Achievements Seed Airdrop
The initial token distribution utilized the Remilia Achievements Seed Airdrop, which allocated tokens based on three criteria: Remilia NFT assets held, Remilia merchandise purchased, and on-chain and off-chain achievements.[3] The system assigned approximately 80% weight to NFT holdings and 20% combined weight to merchandise purchases and achievement triggers.[3] According to the whitepaper, individual credit values for assets and achievements were not published to prevent "future farming," described as an anti-farming measure.[3] The achievements were designed to reward "True Loyalty" demonstrated through on-chain and off-chain participation in Remilia's history.[3] The airdrop was valued at approximately $207 million based on initial token prices.[8] In addition to the airdrop, Remilia offered the top 1,000 CULT holders commemorative 24K gold-coated medallions featuring an embossed Remilia smiley design with a lacquered CULT logo on the reverse, accompanied by a velvet case and certificate of authenticity.[9][10]
Manipulation Engine
The whitepaper describes the Manipulation Engine as a mechanism designed to maximize ongoing community engagement through "manipulation of public attention-flows and cult health commitments."[3] The engine utilizes the Manipulation Fund portion of the Cult Fund, distributing tokens seasonally over three years to incentivize continued participation.[3]
According to the whitepaper, the Manipulation Engine represents a response to the challenge that standard token airdrops and point systems primarily incentivize artificial on-chain engagement.[3] The system aims to reward genuine participation rather than what the whitepaper terms "farming," by continuously adjusting distribution incentives and introducing new engagement mechanisms.[3] The design philosophy centers on three objectives: contributions to memetic potentiation of the Remilia ecosystem, contributions to financial health of Remilia assets, and contributions to Remilia social and culture platforms.[3]
Positioning and philosophy
Charlotte Fang characterized $CULT as distinct from typical memecoins, stating it is "an ecosystem coin for an ecosystem that is by ideological design a self-organizing memetic engine, not wrapping just a meme or character but a revolutionary movement."[4] She described the token as representing a new category, calling it "something like a metamemecoin or a memeplexcoin."[4]
The whitepaper presents $CULT within a framework the project terms "accelerationism," describing a philosophy where "hyperfinancialization accelerates the network, which accelerates cultural self-organization, which builds the tools to coherently navigate contemporaneity."[3] The document positions the token as fundamentally different from typical airdrops by not being tied to specific utility propositions, instead functioning as what it describes as "a fungible proxy of the self-organizing cult."[3]
The whitepaper includes an appendix referencing a section from a document titled "Miladychan: Master-Plan" dealing with "Post-Money Ascension."[3] This section argues that social and spiritual wealth hold significant real value that is "undermeasured by nominal estimations and underpriced by the market due to difficulty of transfer," and that user growth introduces higher genuine engagement while points-based incentive systems risk dilution.[3]
Fang compared the Milady community's function to that of organized religion, suggesting it fulfills needs once served by religious frameworks while maintaining a less structured social organization.[2] She distanced the project from traditional definitions of cults, describing Remilia as "a memetic tribe, a collective set of shared self-organized ideas."[2]
