Gabriel Shapiro (X: @_gabrielShapir0 / @lex_node) is a corporate attorney focused on crypto governance and blockchain law. He previously held roles in BigLaw and as General Counsel at Delphi Labs before co-founding MetaLeX Labs.

Background

Shapiro graduated from Brown University. His career has included buyside tech M&A work and legal roles supporting crypto projects and DAOs. At Delphi Labs he was associated with early development of the BORG (cyBernetic ORGanization) framework for combining legal entities with onchain governance and automation.[1]

He co-founded MetaLeX Labs to build practical tools and platforms around these ideas, including BORG OS, cyberCORPs, and related protocols for tokenized structures and governance.[2] The project raised $2.75M in funding in 2024 and continues product development.[3]

Involvement in Ethereum community debates

In 2026, following the Ethereum Foundation's publication of the EF Mandate, Shapiro publicly supported the Mandate's direction, EF leadership communications, and a focus on CROPS principles.[4] He has criticized proposals for major shifts toward onchain governance or permanent dev funding mechanisms from validator rewards. His posts have aligned with pro-CROPS positions taken by Miladys, including positive references to Tim Clancy.
