Super Metal Mons!!
Super Metal Mons!! was a generative NFT collection of 777 items by digital artist Super Metal Bosch, produced in collaboration with Remilia Corporation and released on March 19 2022. It was one of several projects launched during the Avant NFT Wave, a coordinated effort by Remilia to platform experimental works exploring NFTs as an artistic and financial medium.
Overview
Super Metal Mons!! expanded on Bosch’s earlier series of one-of-one GAN-generated artworks, originally released as direct 1/1 mints on OpenSea. The 2022 collection marked his transition into the generative NFT format, developed with Remilia’s technical and conceptual support following his discovery by the Collective.
Remilia handled contract development and guided Bosch in adapting his GAN art into a trait-based collection. Together they introduced subjective rarity categories such as **Type**, **Material**, and **Brilliance**, which were manually applied to the outputs to establish rarity and market hierarchy. The approach reflected Remilia’s broader interest in integrating aesthetic judgment with financial structure.
The project minted out on the week of its launch following coordinated promotion by Remilia and inclusion in the Avant NFT Wave initiative.
Aftermath
Following the Milady Cancel in May 2022 and the dissolution of the Avant NFT Wave, Bosch became estranged from Remilia by remaining neutral during the controversy. He subsequently collaborated with Wretched Worm and Sophia Vanderbilt on a sequel generative NFT project Gushies, which was promoted as a digital-to-physical collectible line but struggled to mint on its launch and ultimately failed to deliver on its promised plush releases.
Bosch later found success with the Solana-based project Little Swag World, eventually joining Yeche Lange gallery, where he was positioned as a flagship artist within their rebranded Gay NFT circle.
Legacy
Although a relatively minor release, Super Metal Mons!! holds a place in Remilia’s history as one of the first external artist collaborations to apply the collective’s conceptual framework to AI art crossed with generative NFT markets. It exemplified the hybrid development model used across the Avant NFT Wave and served as Bosch’s introduction to the generative NFT space, who would go on to become an influence on later experimental NFT aesthetics. Super Metal Mons would continue to be explored by Bosch in later releases, including as a physical boardgame.
