Needles is a Japanese clothing brand founded by Keizo Shimizu in 1995, seven years after he launched its parent company, Nepenthes. It is best known for its track pants and track jackets, which carry five stripes and a butterfly logo.[1]
Track pants
Needles released its first track pants in 2008. Shimizu drew on vintage sportswear, American films and labels such as Comme des Garçons, and took most of the design from the adidas ATP tracksuits he had worn as a physical education student, increasing the stripes from three to five. The butterfly logo was named for and inspired by the film Papillon. The track pants later gained a wider following, and A$AP Rocky's label AWGE made several collaborative pieces with the brand.[1]
