The LVMH Prize is an international fashion design competition launched by the LVMH group in 2013. It is open to designers aged 18 to 40 who have created at least two ready-to-wear collections.[1]

Awards

The winner of the LVMH Prize receives a €400,000 endowment and one year of mentorship from LVMH experts.[1] The Karl Lagerfeld Prize, created in 2022 in honour of former LVMH Prize jury member Karl Lagerfeld, awards €200,000 and one year of mentorship.[1]

The Savoir-Faire Prize was launched in 2024 to recognize excellence in craftsmanship, technical innovation serving creativity and sustainability. Its winner receives €200,000 and one year of mentorship by LVMH experts.[1] The programme also distinguishes three young fashion-school graduates. Each graduate and their school receives €10,000, and each graduate joins the design studio of one of the LVMH group's Houses for one year.[1]

The mentorship programme for winners of the LVMH Prize, Karl Lagerfeld Prize and Savoir-Faire Prize covers areas including sustainable development, communication, copyright and corporate legal matters, marketing and finance.[1]

Selection

The prize's published timeline begins with the selection of 20 semi-finalists from online applications. Fashion experts then choose the finalists during the semi-final, and the jury members select the winners during the final.[1]
