Krishna Pandit Okhandiar is an American artist, writer, theorist and businessman known for creating a series of performance personas— notably Miya Black Hearted Cyber Angel Baby and Charlotte Fang—through which he explores digital identity, network theory, and collaborative creative practice.[1] Since 2016, Okhandiar has developed multiple online identities as artistic projects, culminating in the founding of Remilia Corporation in 2021.[2]

Early life and education

Okhandiar was born in Irvine, California, to parents of Kashmiri Pandit heritage who immigrated to the United States in their teens.[3] During his teenage years, he developed interests in accelerationist theory and anarcholibertarian writings, engaging with works by Nick Land and the Cybernetic Culture Research Unit (CCRU).[4]

Okhandiar studied architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago before dropping out of the program to relocate to Taipei.[5] The decision to avoid traditional arts education was influenced by his observations of institutional constraints on experimental internet-based work. Following university, he lived between Taipei and Los Angeles, participating in underground experimental music scenes that later informed his artistic approach.[6]

Artistic personas

Miya Black Hearted Cyber Angel Baby (2016–2020)

Okhandiar's first significant persona project was Miya Black Hearted Cyber Angel Baby, presented as a transracial, transgender AI broadcasting from the future.[7] Beginning in 2016, this project operated through a network of Discords, blogs, and "the fediverse" before establishing significant presence on Twitter in 2019.[8]

Through this persona, Okhandiar explored accelerationist philosophy, posthuman identity, and theory-fiction—speculative narratives that examine philosophical concepts through fictional frameworks.[9]

Upon reaching 10,000 followers in May 2020, Okhandiar deliberately terminated the account, encouraging followers to appropriate both the content and identity—establishing the first implementation of what would later be articulated as "post-authorship" principles.[10]

Sonya Qafi Hassan (2020)

Following Miya's conclusion, Okhandiar briefly developed the Sonya Qafi Hassan persona, which took a more satirical approach to online discourse. This short-lived project deliberately exaggerated conspiratorial and esoteric frameworks as a critique of contemporary internet culture.[11]

Charlotte Fang (2021–present)

In January 2021, Okhandiar established his most significant and enduring persona, Charlotte Fang, initially presented as a Chinese fashion student.[12] This persona marked a shift toward more constructive philosophical synthesis and became the public face of Remilia Corporation.[13]

Through Charlotte Fang, Okhandiar developed key concepts such as "network spirituality" and "post-authorship" while creating projects including Milady Maker, which became one of the most culturally significant NFT collections in the crypto space.[14]

Milady Cancel (2022)

Until May 2022, Okhandiar operated primarily through pseudonymous personas, with his legal identity remaining private. Following allegations connecting the Charlotte Fang persona to the earlier Miya project that included threats of doxxing his identity, Okhandiar published "Admin Reveal: I said I'm just a vessel bro," publicly confirming his identity as the author behind these personas.[15]

In this statement, Okhandiar described Miya as "preliminary studies" he hadn't expected to reach a serious audience beyond participating subjects, while acknowledging the controversy as demonstrating "the very mechanisms the project had been examining: the weaponization of identity, the collapse of nuance in digital discourse, and the impossibility of maintaining consistent selfhood across network contexts."[16]

Despite this public acknowledgment of his legal identity, Okhandiar has continued to develop the Charlotte Fang persona as distinct from himself, maintaining conceptual separation between the artist and the artistic identity in keeping with his post-authorship philosophy.[17]

In September 2023, Okhandiar filed a lawsuit against three contractors, alleging they had stolen approximately $1 million in cryptocurrency revenues along with intellectual property from Remilia projects, in an event known as Bonkler 9/11.[18]

In response, the contractors filed a countersuit against Okhandiar, claiming they were in fact equity holders in Remilia and had the right to seize the assets.[19] The legal dispute centered on their claim that Remilia was "an unincorporated partnership or joint venture" rather than Okhandiar's solely owned company.[20]

As of 2025, Okhandiar had filed a motion to dismiss their claims due to lack of evidence, with the case awaiting judicial review.[21]

Publications

While Okhandiar primarily publishes under the Charlotte Fang persona on the Mirror.xyz platform "Golden Light,"[22] he is credited as "Translator" rather than conventional author for the forthcoming anthology "The Exegesis of Miya Black Hearted Cyber Angel Baby" (2026), reflecting his role in mediating between digital and physical forms of the Miya project.[23]

Personal life

As of 2025, Okhandiar divides his time between Irvine, California, where Remilia opened a U.S. office, and Jeju Island, South Korea, with Remilia's fashion and merchandising operations based in Seoul.[24]

Okhandiar has been described as using both he/him and they/them pronouns depending on context, particularly when operating as Charlotte Fang.[25] He has described himself as "reclusive" in his personal life, maintaining significant privacy despite his artistic personas' public visibility.[26]
