Eugene Aubry (1935–2023) was an American architect and artist who grew up in Galveston and studied architecture at the University of Houston. His practice included work as a partner in Morris Aubry Architects and the design of Houston's Wortham Theater Center.[1]
Aubry was also one of the architects credited on the Rothko Chapel, alongside Philip Johnson and Howard Barnstone.[2]
His drawings and watercolors of Galveston were published in Born on the Island: The Galveston We Remember, with text by architectural historian Stephen Fox. The Galveston Historical Foundation commissioned the images to document the city's buildings and architectural character.[1] He died in Palmetto, Florida, in December 2023.[3]
