The specification was first documented in materials for the I Long For Network Spirituality exhibition (2021), though earlier implementations appeared on XCELA Group websites.[2] The choice of pure digital blue draws conceptual inspiration from International Klein Blue (IKB), the ultramarine pigment developed by French artist Yves Klein in the 1960s, translating Klein's material experimentation into the RGB color space.[3]
