Remilia Atelier
Remilia Atelier is a fashion lifestyle brand launched by Remilia Corporation in collaboration with American fashion designer Elena Velez. Announced on February 11, 2026, the brand debuted with a capsule collection centered on the Universal Work Suit, a unisex two-piece suit system drawing from yakuza fashion aesthetics.[1] The partnership represents Remilia Corporation's first expansion into physical fashion retail.
Background
Elena Velez is a New York-based designer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, known for her deconstructive approach to tailoring and use of industrial materials. She won the CFDA American Emerging Designer of the Year award in 2022 and was a semi-finalist for the 2024 LVMH Prize.[2] Her work draws on Rust Belt craftsmanship and themes of femininity and force, with Vogue describing her aesthetic as "explosive and aggressive."
Remilia Corporation and Velez began collaborating in 2025, when Remilia co-hosted the official afterparty for Velez's New York Fashion Week show in September of that year.[3]
Universal Work Suit
The debut capsule collection centers on the Universal Work Suit, a unisex two-piece suit system inspired by the wide-fit, oversized silhouettes associated with yakuza fashion. The suit was conceptualized by Charlotte Fang and cut and tailored by Velez, combining the collection's subcultural references with Velez's signature raw construction and industrial sensibility.[1] Charlotte Fang described the collaboration as allowing Remilia "to interrogate luxury fashion products as a form of industrial lifestyle design."[1] The collection presents multiple variations on the core two-piece form and is scheduled for release in winter 2026 via direct-to-consumer channels, with additional retail partnerships to be announced.
Presentation and events
The collection was shown as part of Elena Velez's AW2026 New York Fashion Week show, with internet personality Clavicular appearing as a model.[1] Remilia Corporation co-hosted an afterparty at Le Bain, sponsored by The Standard and The Venue Collective, featuring a live performance by Silicone Valley with DJ sets by Sophie Powers, Garett Caramel, DJ THINSPO, and DJ Sharf.
The launch is accompanied by Beautiful Tragedy, a feature-length film shot in Tokyo and directed by Ryu Jinnou. The film stars Dasha Nekrasova, Hoon Choi, and Shunya Tsukahara in a narrative described as a coming-of-age drama that spirals into yakuza thriller territory. Film stills serve as the collection's lookbook, presented as a physical pressbook.[1]
