Mashle

Mashle: Magic and Muscles is a Japanese shōnen manga written and illustrated by Hajime Kōmoto. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from January 2020 to July 2023 and collected in 18 volumes. The series mixes fantasy-school tropes, absurd comedy, and battle manga structure around one simple joke: in a world ruled by magic, the hero has none—only ridiculous physical strength.

Plot

The story follows Mash Burnedead, a boy living quietly in the forest with his father. In his world, magic determines social status, but Mash cannot use magic at all. After his secret is exposed, he is forced to enrol in magic school and aim for the title of Divine Visionary, relying on brute strength, deadpan logic, and cream puffs rather than spells.
