Template:Block Indent

Usage

This template indents text blocks without quotation formatting. The Manual of Style forbids using colon indentation (`:`) in article text.

Parameters

• 1 (required): The text to indent
• em (optional): Indentation amount in em units (default: 2)

Examples

• {{block indent|This text will be indented.}}
• {{block indent|This has custom indentation.|em=3}}

Notes

• Use for indented text that is NOT a quotation
• For quotations, use instead
• Do NOT use colon indentation (`:`) in articles - use this template
• Colon indentation is acceptable on talk pages only
